- As a licensed real estate agent, you will have the knowledge and competency to represent buyers and sellers in real estate transactions. Real estate agents are licensed by the state to perform these duties. You advise your clients and guide the process toward the best result for the customers you represent. In addition to listing and showing properties, you handle price negotiations, finalize sales agreements, and follow the escrow and title process until the close of the sale.
- Licensed real estate agents have access to the local Multiple Listing Service (MLS), which is administered and managed by the National Association of REALTORS®. Having the ability to use and list on the MLS makes buying and selling property more efficient and profitable for agents.
- Real estate agents should practice high ethical standards. Licensed real estate agents are eligible to apply for membership with the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). NAR members must adhere to a code of ethics and standards of practice.
